Job Description

We are seeking self-motivated, confident individuals with a history of overachievement. This position is an industrial business-to-business sales role, ideally suited for candidates with technical sales experience in adhesives or industrial supplies. The role will focus on securing new accounts while maintaining an existing customer base in a specific geographic territory.


Territory: Central California

Compensation: Base salary ($90K) + existing commission ($60K) + 10% of revenue on new sales (uncapped commission structure)

Business Mix: 70-80% new business development


Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect for and win new customers to increase the customer base
  • Retain & grow sales/profitability with existing customers
  • Assess and validate customer needs and goals on an ongoing basis
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at all levels
  • Use internet, trade shows, and industry-generated leads to source new accounts
  • Maintain high activity levels and review with management as required
  • Develop and present sales proposals aligned to customer needs
  • Create and maintain detailed customer plans for key accounts
  • Ensure professional internal and external communication
  • Represent the organization professionally, adhering to regulations and policies
  • Collaborate with other functional areas (Marketing, Purchasing, Customer Service)
  • Overnight travel as needed
  • Support safety procedures and complete required training
  • Identify and support process improvement opportunities

Experience and Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's preferred
  • 3-5 years of successful industrial/technical sales experience with proven growth
  • Minimum 3 years in business development with a focus on new business
  • Familiarity with Challenger or Sandler sales methodology
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills
  • CRM/Salesforce experience a plus
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
